Sophie Sabbage, bestselling author of ‘The Cancer Whisperer’ and ‘Lifeshocks – and how to love them’, has been teaching people how to flourish in the face of life’s challenges for over 25 years. She has worked with thousands of people from all walks of life, helping them become emotionally attuned, fully authentic and highly creative in their darkest moments: their best selves.
She has been living with incurable cancer for over four years and has become a high-profile patient activist, appearing in numerous media interviews and articles. These include ITV’s Lorraine, BBC Breakfast, BBC Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour, BBC Radio 5 Live, a BBC World Service award-winning documentary, The Observer, The Times, The Mail, The Express, The Telegraph and many more.
Sophie is a long-serving Senior Trainer with the More To Life Foundation, a global educational foundation that has helped transform thousands of lives since its inception in 1981. She also led an award-winning business consultancy with her mentor, Dr. K. Bradford Brown, for twenty years. Dr. Brown, who created the More To Life programme, was an exceptional clinical psychologist and psychotherapist – a direct student of Carl Rogers, Viktor Frankl and Alan Watts, three of the most influential thinkers of the twentieth century. Together he and Sophie delivered change programmes to diverse organisations including Tesco, British Airways, Unilever, lastminute.com, local education authorities and The Mandela Rhodes Foundation in South Africa.
All Sophie’s work is dedicated to awakening the mind and freeing the spirit through bold, authentic and creative engagement with the challenges of life. Her academic background is in English literature, psychology and organisational change. She is a founding fellow of Professor William Torbert’s Action Inquiry Associates and an agent of change who measures leadership not by how many followers someone has but by how many other leaders they create. Her passport and right to vote are among her most prized possessions.
Sophie is very happily married to John Sabbage and is the proud mother of their daughter, Gabriella.
